He graduated in 1944 so he would have been overseas towards the end of World War II. Robert Held according to the article was inducted into Hackensack High School Hall of Fame. Robert Held played baseball in his senior year with an up and coming sophomore Joseph A. Bracchitta. Robert Held got all league honors as catcher that year along with Ed Sudo-SS, Al Giles-P., and sophomore Joe Bracchitta-CF all of Hackensack.
